Caring and supporting someone with dementia, no matter where you live.
Newcastle University’s Institute for Ageing teamed up with ITN Productions to create a film that highlights the work of Professor Louise Robinson and the teams she leads for the Alzheimer’s Society Centre of Excellence and the NIHR Global Health Research Group on Dementia Prevention and Enhanced Care (DePEC).
Approaches to dementia care varies globally, but research has also found that levels for care following a dementia diagnosis can also differ greatly depending on where you live in England. This short film highlights activities from Newcastle University that look at the best way to support people living with dementia and those caring for loved ones with dementia, no matter where you live. We hear from academics from Newcastle University, a carer supporting a loved one with dementia, and a specialist dementia nurse. They discuss how access to the right facilities can make a huge difference to the support that families and individuals receive.
