Music and dementia

Teddy McDermott became an overnight internet sensation when his son, Simon, posted a video of them singing in the car. This generated a lot of discussion about the importance of music for helping  people with dementia to communicate and enjoy life. Whilst the research evidence is mixed, many people tell us they have found music to be a powerful tool that has helped them.
